Career Counselling & Development Cell (CCDC)

The Career Counselling & Development Cell works under the patronage of the Vice Chancellor, KSKV Kachchh University. Accordingly an independent Career Counselling & Development Cell has been established to encourage students for further studies, guide students for competitive exams and provide a platform through placement cell. Student Career Counselling & Development Cell is headed by a Director and supported by the office staff separately provided by the University. Career Counselling & Development Cell will have a separate Placement Cell. It will be prominence on “Skill Development, Learning and Placement” in KSKV Kachchh University. Thus it is a centre that offers support to our students; make them confident to perform better in their respective domains. The spirit of offering guidance on sharing resources, availability of opportunities and facilities, information and guidance about market patterns and employability can help the University in building a base for our students. The Career Counselling & Development Cell would help the students with appropriate guidance to establish linkages with the world of work and locate career opportunities and job profiles in the context of highly competitive emerging occupational patterns.

The main vision is to provide the students with a platform, which will allow them to make well informed decisions in pursuing further studies and taking up professions within the state, country and even internationally, that are most suited to their educational disciplines, skill sets and aptitude.

To empower students to achieve professional and personal success in dynamic careers and in a diverse global society by providing a comprehensive and supportive educational experience and encouraging lifelong learning.

Objectives of the Career Counselling & Development Cell:

• To provide well-informed inputs to students for their academic development and growth in their current discipline of education.
• To help the students seek out opportunities for further studies locally, nationally and internationally.
• To provide students with current and relevant information on academic opportunities with respect to allied streams of education.
• To provide students with updated, current and relevant information on career opportunities within the stream of their chosen discipline or beyond their chosen disciplines.
• To support students by enhancement and development of soft skills and communication ability.
• To organizes industrial expert’s orientation to the students of all faculty to update the latest trends and industry pre-requisites.
• To arrange domain based training programmes prior to the campus recruitment.
• To organize motivational sessions from industry experts.
• To organize special, industry based training for the students from minority groups and economically weaker section. Also, for students with disabilities.
• To organize Pre-internship programmes to make the students industry ready.
• To impart training on aptitude and logical reasoning for the final year students, this helps them to succeed in the quantitative tests during the campus interviews and other competitive exams such as CSIR-NET, UGC-NET and GSET.
• To arrange mock interviews and group discussions as a part of the industry readiness programme.
• To encourage students to apply for the service commission exams and other competitive exams as and when the advertisements are made.
• Guide students in resume preparation.

Activities

• Information regarding CSIR-NET, UGC-NET, GSET and other entrance exams will be made available to the students.
• Coaching for the preparation for these exams.
• Special Coaching classes for CSIR-NET, UGC-NET and GSET for SC, ST OBC and Minorities.
• Placement Drive to the University campus.
• Provide information regarding the forthcoming vacancies and career options.
• Career counselling programs undertaken by the placement coordinator to guide the students when ever required.
• Interactive sessions by the leaders in respective fields to be conducted regularly. This keeps the students in touch with the latest developments in their field of choice, thereby bringing them at par with the best brains of the country.
• Various talks, symposiums and workshops by eminent personalities to be conducted on a regular basis which exposes the students to various career opportunities.
• Personality development programs, mock interviews and mock GD sessions to be organized to enhance the communication skills of the students and to make them proficient in appearing for the same.
